Two gals with an eye for detail and a love of weddings met up over coffee, hit it off like a house on fire, and began immediately collaborating on design, coordination, florals, and photo shoots. One year later, they have a full blown sandwich company: Bash, Please! Paige Appel of Bash and Kelly Harris of Yes, Please create events that showcase their clients style and sensibility with a twist of fun.

(the event formally known as HITCHED)
Well, we aren’t quite at Prince status, but we are currently nameless and still awesome! That’s right, some not-so-nice people who didn’t learn to share in kindergarten decided to buy {trademark to be official} the word HITCHED and they want to take us to federal court to throw their tantrum publicly. After many months of legal discussion and deliberation, we are choosing to forgo the playground brawl and keep our dough and event in tact, with tact.
And with a NEW NAME.
{Our mamas always told us to ignore the bullies on the playground}.
What is that NEW NAME? That’s where you, our loyal playmates, come in. We need your help. You play nice, right? Will you help us build back the HITCHED fort? {oops, sometimes it slips}
Here’s the deal: leave a comment below with your suggestion for the name. If we pick your choice, you will win 2 free tickets to the next event PLUS a free night’s stay at a swanky hotel in that city. Yes, a full ride to the event formerly known as HITCHED. {dang, we said it again}.
MAKE IT COUNT FRIENDS. WE APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT.
go the anthropologie route and drop all the vowels: htchd. hahah.
ReplyDeleteok no. but seriously my suggestion is:
"eat. drink. wed."
OR
"wed, please"
Get Wed.

ReplyDeleteTroth
Avowals and Constants
Wholly Matrimony
Jeez, some people are really not too nice! I hope karma gets them in the end!
ReplyDeleteMy suggestion is Whirl, because formally know as Hitch events always have great music.
perhaps...
ReplyDeletethe union or
unveil/ unveiled
Hitched is such a great name. Those little weiners. Oh well, I've always thought Marrieds would be a fun name for a wedding business. Or maybe Yoke. What a fun word. Yoke!
ReplyDeleteHmm,
ReplyDeleteHITCHIT

ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that guys, but on with the show! I'm sure even with a new name it'll be just as great. My suggestion is:
ReplyDeleteTied with a Vow
spoken for
ReplyDeletegoing steady
merriment or marriment
ReplyDeleteHow about "bitched" because that's what the people did who trademarked the name. No no just kidding.
ReplyDeleteI think you should stick with your lovely company name. Maybe call it "The Bash, Please". The event is created by both of you and your company name perfectly combines your two personalities and styles.
PS - No matter what you change the name to - I'm determined to come to this event in the Fall (all the way from Nebraska!)
Borrowed & Blue

bash please wed
I suppose I should have also included:
ReplyDeleteWrangled Weddings
Weddings. Wrangled.
Thanks for asking our input. Great entries all around. Cheers!
Although Be+Hitched is the obvious choice (and already mentioned) it would be so nice in that 60's handwriting typeface.
ReplyDeleteHmmm. I like:
ReplyDelete2wed

or

which is 'fresh' in Haitian Creole. :)

ReplyDeletePuxado - That is the literal translation of hitched in Portugese. It's kind of pretty, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteWhat about a play on your name?
ReplyDeleteBashed
Wed, Please
I also like Hitched, please.
Ew lame! How about:
ReplyDeletehäät (finnish word for "wedding"...don't ask me why i chose finnish but probably because i love Saipua and that's the finnish word for SOAP) it also has the "H" and "T" from hitched.
Those kids obviously don't play nice in the sandbox, not cute. Moving on. Here are a few name suggests:
ReplyDeleteMerried
The Wedding Party
Get Bashed
Bashed
Bash Bound
Hi guys, Im your fan since FOREVER love the event although never attended and I live in Mexico, but I think can help you and wanna go, so madly:
ReplyDelete- LET US BE... MARRIED!
- Cut the cake

Git 'er hitched. ahahahah!
ReplyDeleteToo bad you have to give up your "maiden name!"
ReplyDeleteHow about...

That's no good. Sorry about the troubles. Some people can make things so difficult.
ReplyDeleteWhat about a combination of you two? Urbanic Bash?
somebody said going steady. how about just "steady"?
ReplyDeleteAww, I loved the name Hitched! How about "Twosome" or "Pairwise"?
ReplyDelete1 + 1 = <3
ReplyDelete{ a curated wedding event }
Ok, this is an easy question to answer:
ReplyDelete"SNATCHED"
or if that is taken,
"SNATCHED UP"
How about:
ReplyDeleteEnsemble " a curated wedding event "
I also think if you used "Bashed - a curated wedding event" would work as well.
Either way, I can't wait to join you at the next "insert new name here" event.
Cheers

The First Look
ReplyDeletefete galante - an art history term for a frivolous, fun party; "gallant party"
ReplyDeletetilldeathdousPART(y!)
gossamer
ringed in/ring/ringed (as in wedding rings, church bells ringing, eternal circles equal eternal love)
like so many others said, i love "wed, please"
ReplyDeleteOne more! How about, "toast"?
ReplyDeleteAlso, "Regale!" It summons the retro cool and canny chic of a bash, a soiree, a party altogether worthy of two people newly "hitched."
ReplyDelete...well, that's just thoroughly uncool of these people!
ReplyDeleteBut I'm loving some of the creativity:
matchmade
BE+LOVED (could also be "2LOVE + BeLOVED")
unFETEred
tildeathdouspart(Y)
I also came up with:
KISS + TELL
Two is Co.
WOOED
BALL + CHAIN
Good luck gals! I'll be @ the next event no matter what the name is :)
How about -
ReplyDelete"Style Soiree"
or
"Devoted"
"hootenanny" or "two hearts, one hootenanny"

What about LOVE WELL? It is a phrase my boyfriend and I try to live by, but it can also have a double meaning of a Love well, and well you should have a well of love if you are getting married! ;)
ReplyDeleteMy other ideas:
Once and For Two
Love + Devotion
Swept Away
Just Said Yes
Not sure if any of these were mentioned. A lot of ideas entered! ~Valerie
Or what about FATE/FETE with a heart or symbol as the a/e? F*TE, so it would read as either!

Can't wait to see what you pick. Love everything you do!

ReplyDeletePrevow (ie: preview + vow)
With Bow in Tow
Good luck ladies! :)
- Elysa
how about "fit to be tied"? It normally means angry, but I kinda like that. It reminds me of how I feel when some asshole trademarks a word like hitched.
ReplyDeleteAlso like Smitten
What about...
ReplyDelete- Blush & Bashful (Steel Magnolias, anyone?) or, just BASHful
- Aisle Say!
- Lover Beloved
- Loved
- Bridaled
The situation sucks awfully badly, but you've got some great suggestions here!!
xoxo
WHAT!? Can't believe these people are going all legal on you.
ReplyDeleteHmm. How about ...
SQUEE!
CLINK!
Let's Bash!
I have two options:
ReplyDelete1. Hitched-in love.
2. Taken. (as in taken, not single)
Love your work!
How about "Soirée, Please" or "Hitched Bash, Please"
ReplyDeleteBig Fan! Love your work!
" Fete Affair " or " A Borrowed & Blue Bash" ( B&B Bash)
ReplyDeleteWithout a Hitch? :)
ReplyDeleteBliss bash.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Well I'm so glad to hear is wasn't due to some internal dispute! I was afraid for a moment we wouldn't see another one of these fabulous events!
ReplyDeleteI like what some one else suggested, "Get Wed" & also HTCHD
Or how about "Love-Laced"
>shindig
ReplyDelete>shindiggy / shindiggity
>yoked
>snatched
>lovestruck
>minglemash
How about:
ReplyDeleteto have + to hold
have + hold (if you want to keep it shorter)
something new
bustled (as in a bridal gown during the fun part of the wedding!)
So many great ideas here, I'm sure your new name will be just as wonderful as everything else you ladies do!
I'm putting in another vote for "we do" :)
ReplyDelete"we said yes"
"love, us"
Possibly?:
ReplyDelete*Besotted
*Tied with a Beau
*Hearts Intertwined
"gaged"? as in engaged
ReplyDeleteor
"with a kiss"
okay that's all i've got!
"hooked" :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so unfortunate!
ReplyDeleteI def love the "wed, please" idea a lot!
How about using your slogan line "better together"
or "anchored"
Ball <3 Chain
ReplyDeleteThis word nerd suggests ‘Kaleidoscope” for three main reasons:
ReplyDelete1) the word is derived from the Ancient Greek word for beauty or beautiful, which fits your work perfectly :-)
2) looking into a kaleidoscope "the tumbling of the coloured objects presents the viewer with varying colours and patterns" (thanks wikipedia!), which fits all of the exhibitors' work coming together at the event
3) It has the words ‘I do’ in it! Perfect for a wedding event!
~ Sarah (writergirlsarah[at]gmail[dot]com
I vote for kaleIDOscope because I LOVE the three reasons Sarah gave!Word nerds rock!
